The Appalachian Trail Conservancy estimates there are over 3,000 attempts to traverse the entire trail each year, about 25% of which succeed. The number of thru-hikes per year has increased steadily since 2010, with 715 northbound and 133 southbound thru-hikes reported for 2017. Thru-hikers walk the entire trail in a single season. From south to north it passes through the states of Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Most of the trail is in forest or wild lands, although some portions traverse towns, roads and farms. The trail is maintained by 31 trail clubs and multiple partnerships, and managed by the National Park Service, United States Forest Service, and the nonprofit Appalachian Trail Conservancy. It became the Appalachian National Scenic Trail under the National Trails System Act of 1968. Improvements and changes have continued since then. The trail was first proposed in 1921 and completed in 1937 after more than a decade of work. More than three million people hike segments of the trail each year. The cross-braced ProTaper alloy handlebar is mounted in billet aluminum clamps and carries ProTaper grips, light and ignition switches, and a replacement thumb throttle. A set of DWT wheels with wide hubs and mounted Hoosier tires is included in the sale. A hydraulic disc on the rear axle features a wave rotor mounted on a billet aluminum carrier, a custom pedal, and a replacement caliper and master cylinder.

Suspension consists of a Full Send Wheelie Works inverted fork held in Hostile alloy triple clamps. Multi-piece 7″ steel wheels were powder-coated in gold and mounted with billet axle spacers and 16×8.00″ Ocelot P322 tires. Additional features include a Maier LED headlight, custom folding foot pegs, and a replacement rear grab bar with a quick-release flag pole mount as well as a replacement seat pan topped with padding and a blue Thrillseekers cover. The Maier bodywork and ZR50R fuel tank are finished in red with Honda wings and industry logos over a steel backbone frame that was powder-coated in matte black. This modified ATC 70 is now offered at no reserve with a spare set of wheels and tires, the removed Honda engine and transmission, and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The seller acquired the trike out of Arizona in 2021 and subsequently refurbished it by powder-coating the frame and 7″ steel wheels, replacing the engine, and installing a repainted Honda ZR50R fuel tank, Maier bodywork, an LED headlight, a Full Send Wheelie Works fork, an electric starter, a Mikuni VM26 carburetor, upgraded braking components, Ocelot tires, and a replacement seat. This 1983 Honda ATC 70 is finished in red and powered by a replacement 140cc four-stroke single paired with a four-speed transmission and an automatic clutch.
